Do you enjoy writing, journalism and video games? Think you can write news stories, previews and reviews? Is your dream to one day mingle with video game greats such as Shigeru Miyamoto and Hideo Kojima? There is only one place to get all that and more, E3 2010!!
The Video Games application is looking for a few good men (and women) to accompany us to E3 this upcoming year in order to help us expand our coverage and become your number 1 location for video game related news and media on Facebook. It will be a fully paid trip with hotel (you sleep on the floor of our hotel rooms, we joke, we joke!) admission to E3 June 15-17, 2010 (you must be at least 18 to enter E3 ) and a bunch of private parties every night. You must be at least 21 to come to the parties with us. If you are not 21 years of age, you can go back to the hotel and work on the days events.
So, in the spirit of the event, we want our readers to make the decision for us on who to take. To do this, we are proposing a little contest.
The way it works is simple. Anyone who wishes to get involved can go to our news page and click the "Write an article" link at the top. Simply enter your news story and we will consider it for approval. Once you have a successfully approved news story, the story will appear on our main news page. In order to have a news story approved, please provide at least one image in your news story and a link at the bottom to the source you received the information from. No copy and pasting of any story is allowed.
Now, here is where the readers come in. If you click on any news story preview or review, there will be a "follow" link beside the writer's name. Readers can simply click that to become a follower of said author. The writers who accumulate the most followers are the ones we are going to be highly considering to take with us to E3! Note: you may ask readers in your stories to become a follower of your stories.
Remember that if we see really good news articles, we will be promoting them all across our networks and that means that it will be far more likely for you to gather a wider range of followers, so make sure you are making your stories as fantastic as possible!
In order to assist, the Video Games Application has compiled an RSS feed of some of the media outlets that we like to follow. Add this URL to an RSS feed reader (might we suggest Google Reader) and you will be ready to go!

We also find Games Press to be an excellent source and can be accessed here:
To keep track of who is in the lead, we have created a leaderboard page. Check it out to keep up to date on where you stand in the competition by clicking here. Good luck to all, can't wait to see you at E3!
